Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way! ~Dr. Seuss
About my family… We moved out here from Indianapolis two and a half years ago. My husband, Terry, and I have 2 children. Bryce is in 2nd grade and Ella is in 1st grade. Both of them have huge imaginations and a joy for life. As a family we love all that Colorado has to offer from camping, hiking, skiing, and much more! But our favorite thing is seeing the beautiful majestic mountains each and every day!
About me… I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in elementary education. I taught for over 12 years in Noblesville Schools where the majority of my years remained in the 5th grade. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I love seeing the children grow, succeed and discover new ideas each and everyday. I am a very enthusiastic, motivating, and patient teacher who gives all that she can to insure my students’ have an enjoyable and successful year.
My philosophy of education... can be summarized in one of my favorite quotes. “Teachers have 2 jobs. Fill young minds with knowledge, yes. But more importantly give those minds a compass, so the knowledge doesn’t go to waste,” stated by principal Jacobs in Mr. Holland’s Opus. I feel that our classroom is a team effort where we all have to work together to reach the common goal of developing life long learners. Communication and collaborative learning are key, which include parents, teachers and students themselves.
