MYSTERY READERS

We love to have mystery guest readers come in our class! The kids use clues to guess who you are, and you get to come in and read a book to the class. See the Mystery Reader Letter for more information.

ALL STAR KIDS CHALLENGE

What is the "All Star Kids Challenge"?

This is a club for students who are interested in going "above and beyond" the normal classroom expectations. It will challenge students and allow them to learn new and interesting things. Remember, learning never ends!

All you have to do is learn about one of the listed topics below and complete the challenges. Every time you complete a challenge, you will earn a star on our All Star Kids Challenge board. You can be a 1 star member all the way up to a 90 star member. You start in the Bronze Members group and can work your way all the way up to the Diamond Members. When you move to a new group, you will receive a All Star Kids Challenge Certificate. Here are the criteria for getting into each group:

Bronze Members: 1-18 Stars

Silver Members: 19-36 Stars

Gold Members: 37-54 Stars

Platinum Members: 55-72 Stars

Diamond Members: 73-90 Stars

How do I participate?

It's easy! Choose any topic from this page and research it, using the website provided, to find the answer. Then, copy the question and answer in your All Star Kids Challenge Notebook. For some challenges, there are websites that have print-outs for you to label. Print out the diagram, label it and attach it into your notebook. Turn it into the All Star Kids Challenge bin, and I will look over your answers. For every correct answer, I will add a star by your name on the All Star Kids Challenge board.

What is the All Star Kids Challenge Notebook?

An All Star Kids Challenge Notebook is a notebook that you provide. You can use one that you have from home or purchase a new one just for this club. Any kind of notebook will do! Sometimes the small notepads are good for this club, but you can use whatever you feel comfortable using! When recording in your notebook, please put the number of the challenge, copy the challenge, and then write its answer. Be sure to write nice and neatly. Don't forget to date each entry and put a line on the page after each entry.

What happens after you are a Diamond Member?

Well, then you get the special privilege of helping me research and make up questions to add to the All Star Kids Challenge! You will see the Kid-Generated Question section--this is just for you! I will add on more challenges with your help!

Click on an icon below to get started on the challenges!

PLEASE NOTE: Within each category, there are Internet links to help you find the answers. Most users should be able to click on the links and go to the web page. If this does not work for you, you can copy and paste the link into your browser's URL field. In addition to the links provided, you can search using Google (www.google.com) or another search engine to find answers. Have fun!

If any of the All Star Kids Challenge links show problems, please e-mail me at  maryjo.alexander@adams12.org.

(Thank you to Mrs. Pearce's Website and Mrs. White's Website that inspired the creation of the All Star Kids Challenge.)
