Hello! My name is Jenny Payne and I am excited to be teaching middle school science at Hulstrom!
I have an Undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico in Psychology & Child Development. I hold a professional credential from California, Washington, and Colorado, as well as endorsements in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learning. I am skilled and trained in Slingerland, Lindamood Bell and Orton Gillingham learning strategies.
I started my teaching career 16 years ago in San Francisco at an inner city middle school. One year, the classroom size reached 38 students! After a couple years, I decided to teach middle school science at a smaller school for Boys. I was able to utilize my multi sensory learning strategies on the variety of learning styles in the classroom.
I had the pleasure of teaching grades 3-9 in Seattle, Washington as a learning specialist. My students consisted of twice exceptional students as well as gifted learners.
I am happy to now call Colorado my home. I enjoy short trips to the mountains, live music, coffee, snowboarding, reading, baking, hiking, family, and playing outside. My husband and I have 3 amazing children, and a big black English lab.
I look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the school year. I am committed to helping your child expand their strengths, develop skills, and overcome challenges. I am invested in your child's success academically, socially, and emotionally, and am excited for the year to start!
