I am so happy to be a part of the Hulstrom community this year, and thrilled to get to know and work alongside your student!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Colorado – Boulder, as well as my Professional Teacher License for K-6.
In addition, I am endorsed as a Special Education Generalist and to teach Math and Spanish. I homeschooled my own five children for nine years; one of my children has special needs and two are GT. More recently, I have worked as a private tutor (seven years) and a professional tutor for Front Range Community College (five years). My subbing experience includes three years at a private school and three years for Adams 12 Five Star Schools.
My five children range in age from 14 to 24: two still in Adams 12 schools, two in college, and one is a recent college graduate. I’m definitely a proud mom! My husband of 25 years is a teacher at Horizon High School. Our two adorable Shih Tzu dogs are named Gir and Mickey. I enjoy doing cross fit workouts with my husband, reading with my women’s book group, hiking, skiing, spending time with my family and watching Netflix when I can. I have climbed 44 of the 54 fourteeners in Colorado and would love to be able to finish them all some day. Last summer I had the privilege of taking intensive Spanish classes for three weeks in Mexico.
Born in Houston, Texas to VERY Texan parents, I also lived in The Netherlands and North Carolina before settling in Colorado at age five with my family. I LOVE our amazing mountains, sunny days and active lifestyle here in Colorado!
