Cyber Patriots (Grades 6-8)
Cyber Patriots is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. Cyber Patriots learn about Cyber Security threats and how to secure networks.
At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competitions. Competitions put teams in the role of new hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. Teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services.
Hulstrom has participated in Cyber Patriots since 2018. In that time, we have placed in the top 3 in the middle school division each year!
Members of this club meet after school in November through February in our technology lab. For more information, email Christina Espino, Computer Science Teacher, at esp010195@adams12.org.
