National Junior Honor Society (Grades 7-8)
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is an American international student organization with chapters in middle school throughout the United States, the U.S. territories, and around the world. NJHS recognizes students who exemplify leadership an citizenship. NJHS was established "to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; to encourage responsible citizenship; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools." Membership is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship. Once selected, members have the responsibility to demonstrate these qualities. The goal of Hulstrom's NJHS chapter is to foster leadership and engagement in academic achievement, while also supporting community service and volunteerism.
