Tired of that glazed-over look from too much screen time? Ready to make some new friends and amaze your parents with your brain power?  Join Chess Wizards this school year for challenging chess lessons, exciting tournaments, fun team activities, and more!  If you’re brand new to the game, we’ll teach you the basics and get you playing with the big kids in no time.  If you’re a seasoned checkmate artist, we’ll show you new ways to let your creativity loose on and off the chess board. Chess Wizards is one of the largest chess academies in the nation.  Every year since 2002, our interactive, discovery-based curriculum inspires thousands of students and parents to challenge themselves through the Game of Kings (and queens!).  More than just a game of winning and losing, we challenge our students to think ahead, visualize their goals, treat others with respect, and learn from their mistakes.  Studies have shown that chess enhances cognitive development, improves scholastic performance, and boosts confidence … plus it’s a game kids can enjoy their whole lives! Have you ever had a math lesson from fruits or plants?  Some math or geometry shapes recur again and again in nature.  Discover how and why artists, architects, and engineers use these naturally occurring patterns in their designs.  Use this knowledge to create a model from recycled materials, a home for a real or imaginary creature.

Ooze into action, manipulate matter, and witness some radical reactions in this exciting Chemistry-themed after-school program from Mad Science!  Slide down the colorful pH scale and dip into the science of acids and bases.  Learn to recognize chemical changes and mix ingredients together form some sensational results.  Make your own ooey, gooey Mad Science slime to take home!  From proper use of equipment and lab safety to molecular structure and more, this innovative program explores the exciting world of basic chemistry!  Grab your lab coat and let’s head to the laboratory for some Crazy ChemWorks!

Session 1: Zany Zoology – If your interests are on the WILD side, then this is the club for you!  Explore the world of animals from A to Z.  Examine an owl pellet, get up close and personal with insects, make art from a fish, build a bird feeder, and much more.  Classify creatures that slither, swim, crawl, and fly.  Unleash your curiosity as we journey through the animal kingdom! Session 2: Extreme Electricity – Zap!  Electrify your interest as we build a working telegraph, experiment with conductors and insulators, build an electromagnet, and much more.  This club takes electricity to the extreme!  We’ll charge up those electrons and send them spinning around the room.  It’s zapping science that will give your brain a charge! Session 3: Radical Reactions – Enter our reaction lab and you will be transformed into chemist!  Create chemical concoctions that fizz, bubble, and ooze.  Make your own chemical reactions – super polymer bouncy ball, get slimed out, meet the mysterious Mushroom Men, create a snowstorm in a bottle, and much more.  If you like mixing things up then come get radical in our lab! Session 4: Unsolved Science – Science Matters needs your help to solve the Unsolved Science Mystery!  Use forensic science skills to solve the mystery and become a Chemical Detective!  Create your own Chemical Detective Kit, life and identify crime scene fingerprints, reveal secret messages, extract DNA, and discover more forensic science techniques used in crime scene investigations!  In this club, you can become a Science Super Sleuth.  Can you help explain unsolved science? Session 5: My Amazing Flying Machine – Zoom your way into this high flying club.  Speed your way through the four forces of flight by making a ping pong ball float, designing your own parachute, sending rockets into the atmosphere, building your own plane, and much more.  Soar your way through this aerodynamic club.  May the four forces of flight be with you!

THYME to TURNIP the BEET on what KIDS EAT Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while loving and learning to cook in a fun, engaging, and irresistibly tasty way that will turn even the pickiest eaters into avid food explorers! 
Our fun, inspiring, and creative chef instructors mix together a sense of engagement and excitement as they combine the love of cooking and fun nutritional facts (even a few bad jokes!), safe cooking skills and hygiene, jokes, geography, math skills, food culture, and history to help instill a lifetime love of delicious, healthy family cooking.
Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy, American classics as well as globally-inspired Sticky Fingers Cooking recipes!  Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes, all seasonal and as local as possible, master culinary skills that they can put to use in family kitchens, all while nourishing their bodies and minds.
We practice safe chopping, measuring and mixing skills, use a wide array of cooking utensils all while creating awesomely delicious recipes from the freshest ingredients.  Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors.

Strategic Kids – Star Wars LEGO + Engineering with LEGO

Session 1: Star Wars LEGO: Han and Chewy Adventures – In this LEGO class, students will help Han + Chewy overcome universal problems!  Students will build and share stories from Star Wars combined with their own imaginations, prompting them to find solutions to everyday problems.  This class is sure to be a wookie of a time as students learn the ins and outs of storytelling including character development, the story arc, setting, and much more! Session 2: Engineering with LEGO: Crazy Carnival Machines – Strategic Kids’ Crazy Carnival Machines will get students working with LEGO while teaching a wide variety of engineering topics.  Children will learn organizational and fine motor skills, as well as team work and other life strategies!  Through this course, the students will discover simple engineering concepts using gears, levers, and pulleys by engaging in fun activities and guided play based around carnival games and machines.
