Children with identified gifts and talents have specific academic needs, which must be met to ensure they stay engaged in their education. At Hulstrom, we work diligently to determine each student’s levels of readiness based on a body of evidence gathered by formal and informal assessments across the various content areas.
From this body of evidence, Hulstrom staff develop an individualized plan to support students as they progress through the academic standards and grow as individuals. Instructional techniques include, but are limited to, concept-based learning, inquiry, depth and complexity, and formative practices into standards-based instruction to provide authentic problem-solving and increase critical thinking. These are paired with a variety of instructional strategies to facilitate learning and increase student engagement.
