Hulstrom celebrates Pi Day with school wide activities
March 14th may be just another day to some but at Hulstrom it is PI DAY! Every year, students celebrate March 14th with all things PI. There are grade level competitions for those who can memorize the most digits of PI and one student is crowned the PI champion (this year, a new record was set - 1360 digits memorized!). Students can also participate in a pie baking contest, and their delicious creations are judged by our lucky staff! Classrooms celebrate with craft projects and games, while the art teachers have students create the best non-edible pies around. Finally, at the end of the day, Hulstrom celebrates with a school-wide assembly, announcing and honoring the various winners AND not one, but two pie eating contests. The winners of the contests get to put a pie in the face of an Assistant Principal and the Principal! It's a great way to celebrate all things PI and include the entire school community!
