Hulstrom students collaborate to clean up the community
Hulstrom All-Stars combine forces to help keep Northglenn clean! On Saturday, March 22nd, members of NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) and the Green Team (Hulstrom's MS group that promotes sustainability and implements eco-friendly initiatives) came together to participate in Northglenn's annual Farmers' Highline Canal Cleanup. The FHCC takes place every spring and is organized by the City of Northglenn. The Green Team has participated in this event for the past couple years and, this year, combined forces with NJHS to give back to our community. Students gathered at Hulstrom and quickly set off down Wyco Drive, towards 112th, collecting garbage, broken glass, and discarded construction materials along the trail. When done, the group had gathered three bags worth of trash along the almost three mile stretch. Although many received volunteer hours for the time, most students participated because of their desire to help keep our neighbor clean and give back to the city.
