Parent Engagement Opportunities
At Hulstrom, we believe strongly in the partnerships between families and school. We do not have mandatory volunteer hours, but we do have a number of ways for families to be engaged in the Hulstrom community. The ultimate way to be engaged within the Hulstrom community is to support your child, talk to your child about the day, work postively with school staff, provide time and space to build strong scholarly habits, and have fun learning with them in the world.
Our PTA is a wonderful way to become involved! You can join the board, help plan an event, and/or attend one of PTA meetings throughout the year to be informed and share your voice. PTA sponsored and/or involved events include the Fall Carnival, the Celebration of Giving, the Hulstrom Hustle (Fun Run), middle school dances, Trunk or Treat, the Husltrom Gala, the Hulstrom Auction, and more! For more information on our PTA, please see here.
There are a multitude of volunteering opportunities across the school, both in and out of classrooms. Volunteers in the classroom can look different across the grade levels, so reach out to your child's teacher(s). Many parents are not able to volunteer in classrooms for a variety of reasons, and, if this is the case for you, there are projects for teachers that can be done outside of school.
School Communication and Events
Another great way to engage with the school through communication and attendance at school events. We have Pastries with the Principal almost every month (with the exception of December and April), we have parent information nights throughout the year focused on a variety of topics, and specialized opportunities for parents to share their passions with our students (Talent Development).
If you have ideas on other pathways of engagement you would like to see within Hulstrom, please do not hestitate to reach out!
