PTA - Easy Ways to Earn Money and Finance Information
Easy Ways to Earn MoneyHulstrom PTA has several ways that you can earn money for our school all year long. Here is a list of just a few and some links to get you started!
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support Hulstrom every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to Hulstrom.
This year we are participating in a hassle-free fundraiser called Shoparoo. Nationwide, more than 7,000 schools are already fundraising through Shoparoo and earning big bucks by simply saving receipts. All you need to do is take pictures of your grocery receipts with the Shoparoo app made for your smartphone. It doesn't matter where you shop or what you buy—every receipt submitted results in a donation to our school! SUPER EASY AND FUN!
So, what are you waiting for? Simply download the free app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store by searching "shoparoo" and then select HULSTROM PTA as your chosen cause. There is no limit to how much money we can raise with Shoparoo, so check it out today!
Shop With Scrip
Shop with Scrip is a great way to buy the things you normally buy while earning money for our school at the same time!
How often do you grab a coffee, head out to lunch, or visit a store for a spirit night? If you are like me, the answer is constantly! Would you like Hulstrom to earn 4% to 24% from your purchase? YES! Look for a chance to purchase these gift card in November.
Collect Box Tops
Hulstrom earns 10 cents for every Box Top we collect, and it adds up fast. All you have to do is clip Box Tops from boxes, cans, and other items that show the Box Top symbol. Turn in your clipped Box Tops to the PINK BOXTOPS mailbox on the PTA cart in the main foyer. You can turn in Box Tops at any time. Check the main foyer for our progress so far toward this goal.
Milk Caps For Moolah
Turn in your Longmont Diary milk caps to the Cow Print Milk Jug on the PTA cart in the school foyer and the Longmont Dairy will give five cents for each cap.
PTA Finance Information
A key piece of our PTA is tracking money raised and expenses so that we are able to provide accurate, reliable information to our school when money is needed for teachers, technology, special trips . . . the list goes on. But tracking all those dollars can be a bit confusing, so we wanted to provide our families and staff with a little bit more information about the financial issues covered throughout the year and during PTA meetings. We hope you find this little Q&A helpful:
What is a Budget?
Every year a new PTA budget is formed. Most of the numbers are based on how PTA performed during the previous year. Many changes take place throughout the year, making the budget a work in progress. If changes need to be made, a vote by the membership is required according to PTA guidelines. Sometimes a line is added or deleted.
What is a Treasurer's Report?
This is a report that details monthly PTA expenses. Details of expenses are listed next to the category in which they occur.
This year's PTA is marked with many changes we have made to help make meetings move more smoothly and provide time for more valuable information to attendees. One of those changes is the delivery of the monthly Treasurer's Report. This year, the Treasurer's Report will not be discussed line-by-line like in years' past because that approach takes too much time and is not a required PTA activity. Instead, the report will be displayed on the document camera for viewing before, during, and after the PTA meetings.
Our Treasurer, Karry Gangji, will also have the checking account register at all meetings and available for viewing. Please feel free to ask any questions at the meetings or via email (email@example.com). Karry is happy to address any concerns you might have.
Please check out the Easy Ways to Earn Money for simple ways to help our school with the money you spend everyday. With recent budget cuts, your contributions are even more vital. Thank you for what you give.
