High School Pathway

We know many families begin thinking about high school pathways for their students at a very young age.  Each year we receive several questions about what options are available, how prepared our students are, and what supports we provide throughout this process.

Hulstrom has a robust pathway designed to elevate student voice, honor their unique identities, and ensure they are well-prepared for their next steps.  Our pathway is embedded with student choice, which is a research based best practice for all learners but especially advanced and gifted learners.  All of our students have direct access to every specialized program offered within all district high schools.  Each of the programs are highly renowned, rigorous, and develop extremely strong skills that make them strong next steps after the Hulstrom program.  Several of the programs are application-based, the vast majority of our students are accepted into every specialized program they pursue and they consistently transition feeling confident, capable, and high prepared.

High School Important Information Specialized Program Important Information
Legacy Legacy High School will provide opportunities, expectations, and support for each student to achieve academic excellence. The partnership of staff, students, families, and the community will encourage individual integrity, personal growth, and enthusiasm for the future. Legacy continues to be recognized as a high achieving, high growth high school by the Colorado Department of Education. Legacy 2000 (L2K) Legacy 2000 (L2k) provides students with an unique approach to STEM concepts.  Students focus on technical writing, research, public speaking, and networking, all in an environment of rigorous expectations and professionalism.  Most topics studied are student driven and based on personal or career interest.
Horizon Horizon High School is committed to excellence on all fronts — academic achievement, arts, athletics and co-curricular activities. Horizon balances a holistic liberal arts education with rigorous content-specific curriculum to equip students for success beyond graduation. SOAR The Horizon Students Of Academic Rigor (S.O.A.R.) program is designed to enlighten, enrich, and excite students. The S.O.A.R. program provides structure and support for high-achieving students to prepare for college and post-secondary success. The S.O.A.R. program is specific to the individual student and their own area of educational emphasis. It is designed to promote a well-rounded high school experience including Advanced Placement courses, extra-curricular activities, community service involvement, and extended learning opportunities. The aspiration of the S.O.A.R. program is to furnish a variety of learning opportunities to challenge and engage students.
Mountain Range The staff at Mountain Range are dedicated to helping all students find their place on “The Mountain.” According to our students, Mountain Range High School has a supportive staff, offers a wide variety of courses, and allows students to feel a sense of community. School of Business High School of Business™ is designed similarly to a college business administration program, where students take two semesters of a business class each year for four years. Students in High School of Business™ have the opportunity to earn college credits while attending high school. Mountain Range High School of Business™ is an accelerated high school academic program. Students enrolled in High School of Business™ start college on the first day of high school.
Thornton Thornton High School's International Baccalaureate Programme provides opportunities, expectations and support for each student to become a knowledgeable, open-minded, active, and caring citizen of an ever-changing world. To this end, the programme challenges students to think critically, develop respect for different points of view, and embrace a lifelong journey of learning, hard work and academic excellence. Odyssey The Trojan ODYSSEY allows students to ‘chart their own course’ towards graduation through an individualized pathway. Students will map out their experience, weaving together Advanced Placement (AP) coursework, Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways, Concurrent Enrollment (CE) options, and post-secondary preparation to create a learning experience that reflects their unique goals and passions. The THS ODYSSEY emphasizes exploration and flexibility and, like any great journey, provides support, guidance, and opportunities at every step, ensuring students are well-prepared for wherever their path leads.
Northglenn It's a place with long standing traditions and deep roots. The Mighty Norse continue to uphold a standard of excellence for the district and school that was set for us long ago. As the oldest high school in the district, we press on to continue that tradition with the work that we do. Norse Country is still the place to find amazing fine arts programs, competitive sports teams, rigorous courses, and great people! We hope you'll join us. STEM & Pathways and JROTC Northglenn High School offers exceptional STEM opportunities through its three specialized pathways: Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, and P-TECH (Computer Information Systems). These programs provide hands-on, real-world learning experiences, access to college credit starting freshman year, industry partnerships, internships, job shadowing, and priority scheduling. Students can earn an associate degree at no cost through P-TECH, while all pathway students can receive guaranteed admission to select Colorado universities, and graduate with STEM recognition, including a letter, certificate, and diploma seal. The school’s problem-based learning model and strong industry and college partnerships ensure students are well-prepared for both college and STEM careers.The JROTC Curriculum is a blend of academics and hands-on exercises to promote leadership, teamwork, physical fitness, and “life skills” including subjects like personal financial management, first aid, and land navigation. Students may enroll in JROTC anytime during high school and are not required to participate in all four years. JROTC Cadets are issued a military dress uniform at no cost.  Cadets are required to wear the uniform at least once per week on the school designated day.
FutureForward Students attending any Adams 12 high school above are able to complete courses of study through Future Forward. The district's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, FutureForward, gives all students a competitive advantage as they enter college, career or the military. Career & Technical Education FutureForward is proud to partner with industry leaders to provide participating students with unique opportunities to advance their education, earn industry certificates or earn work-based learning opportunities in many career pathways such as art & design, business and marketing, criminal justice and public safety, health sciences, hospitality, human services education, skilled trades & technical sciences, STEM, and information technology.
